Get
ready for the Dark Knight of Bollywood - Golmal Returns this October and promises
more gags, more girls and more much much more masala.
Golmal Returns reunites the laugh out loud trio of Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and
Tusshar Kapoor from the original movie. In case you didn't already know, Shrayas
Talpade steps into the expensive shoes of Sharman Joshi in Golmal Returns.
We got out hands on the music CD this Saturday and we gave it a listen.
After the raging success of Race, Singh Is Kinng, Jannat and Kismat Konnectio, Pritam
returns to the recording studio and does what he does best - dole up cracking masala
numbers.
The album opens with 'Tha Kar Ke' that is sung by newcomer Ashish Pandit. Lavish
arrangements and over the top orchestra makes it a very enjoyable dance number.
'Vacancy' brings back fond memories of 'Golmal', the title track of the original
movie. The songs uses the peppy elements of 'Golmal' and whips out a fresh number
laced with English and well as Hindi lyrics.
'Tu Saala' is a total tapori number but itgoes well with the mood of the Golmal
Returns. The song relies entirely on beats and doesn't give a hoot about lyrics...which
is strangely a good thing in this case.
'Meow' features Monali of 'Touch me' fame from Race. She jams it up with Suzie Q
to flesh out quite a naughty track tailor made for Gen X. Its a relatively easy
listen and has Pritam stamped upon the lyrics and tune.
There are remix versions of 'Vacancy', 'Tu Saala' and 'Meow' that obviously up the
ante and provide some decent dance material. Although not the greatest remixes in
the world, the tracks are quite passable. Also included is a bonus track that features
the entire soundtrack by Vishal - Shekhar, the composers of the original 'Golamal'.
